About the Role:
Sierra Animal Wellness Center is looking for a passionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team in Colfax, CA. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the attending veterinarian
- Collect and process laboratory samples including blood, urine, and tissue specimens
- Monitor and care for patients under anesthesia and during post-operative recovery
- Perform dental cleanings, radiographs, and other technical procedures
- Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding care plans, medications, and preventive health
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation in practice management software
- Ensure a clean, safe, and well-stocked clinical environment
Requirements:
- Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in the state of California
- Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting preferred
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, dental prophys, dental xrays, and anesthesia monitoring
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, surgical prep, and laboratory diagnostics
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, client-friendly demeanor
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Comfortable handling animals of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments

Compensation: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

Established in 1997 in Gold Run, CA, we were one of the first truly holistic veterinary clinics to serve the Sierra Foothills and beyond. Now located in Colfax, California, we practice integrative medicine and specialize in treating small animals with Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM).
We use acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas as well as western herbs and medicine to treat the whole animal. We also have a strong interest in animal behavior and use flower essences and herbs to treat animals whose behavior issues originate from an imbalance.
